As a member of the Joint Special Committee tasked with revising the Rules of Procedure of the Congress, I participated today in the official installation ceremony presided over by the Right Honorable Speaker of the Congress, Mr. Ali Kolotou Tchaïmi.
Composed of twenty-six (26) members from both houses of Parliament, this committee has been mandated to examine and revise the provisions of the Rules of Procedure of the Congress, with a view to harmonizing them with the new constitutional requirements and the current realities of our country's institutional functioning.
The committee's work must culminate, within a maximum of two weeks, in the submission of a report accompanied by proposals aimed at further strengthening the efficiency, coherence, and modernization of the regulatory framework governing the Congress.
Aware of the importance and scope of this mission, we pledge to carry out this work responsibly, collaboratively, and with adherence to the republican principles that underpin our institutions.
Parliamentary Communications:
This morning, I participated in the formal opening ceremony of the ordinary session of the Congress of Parliament, bringing together members of parliament and senators for our institutional work.
Two major issues are on the agenda for this session: firstly, the review of the proposed revision of the Congress of Parliament's rules of procedure, and secondly, the consideration of the request to extend the state of emergency declared in the Lake Chad region.
Following the ceremony, I gave a few interviews to the national press, during which I provided insights into the major issues of the day as well as the prospects related to the parliamentary work underway.
